About Us

Over Two Decades of Growth Through Learning, Hard Work, and Customer Care

Established in the town of Kardzhali, Bulgaria in 2004 as the offshoring branch of a British software company, we expanded from supporting our own products to serving external customers in various markets.

Home Base: Why Kardzhali Made Sense

Kardzhali is a town in southeastern Bulgaria. Following the collapse of communism in 1990, Kardzhali transitioned to a free-market economy and engaged in numerous foreign aid projects with Western countries. One notable initiative, supported by the UK government, focused on integrating information technology into the municipality, local schools, and colleges. With Bulgaria already possessing a strong foundation in computer science, this project showcased the region’s IT talent, ultimately leading to the town being chosen as an offshore destination for a UK-based software company in 2004.

Company History

July, 2004

Netmania IT Ltd. branch Kardzhali is established

The UK-based company Netmania IT Ltd. has selected Kardzhali as the location for its offshoring office. We have established a company branch and launched operations in a small office with two software engineers. Our initial work focused on supporting the software development of our parent company’s products.

October, 2008

Moving to a new office and expanding the team

As the demand for additional staff to support our parent company grew rapidly, we relocated to a new four-story office building. This move accommodated our expanding team, and provided space for the planned substantial further growth.

March, 2012

Going 24/7

To meet our customers’ need for global, around-the-clock support, we have expanded further, establishing a 24/7 team presence in our office. This team handles support calls, provides helpdesk services, troubleshoots issues, and offers application support, including configurations, customizations, deployments, upgrades, and quality assurance.

Joining ETI Software Solutions

Netmania IT UK successfully developed cutting-edge device management technology, gaining recognition in the business sector. Proving this recognition and boosting its international expansion, ETI Software Solutions – a global leader in communications technology and services, acquired our parent company. This acquisition made our Bulgarian operation, now named ETI Bulgaria, part of a much larger family, enabling it to grow and support a wide range of products.

Establishing Artesk IT Services Alongside ETI Bulgaria

With the growing work on our own software products and services for external customers, we decided that a financial separation would improve efficiency. As a result, we have registered Artesk IT Services to focus the efforts on external contracts, while ETI Bulgaria works on internal projects. This structure allows both teams to continue working closely together, sharing the same workplace and benefiting from knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Our Core Values

Successful businesses thrive on both happy employees and satisfied customers, but achieving this balance is no easy task. We take this challenge seriously, recognizing that the demanding nature of the IT industry can bring anxiety, fatigue, and other stressors. That’s why fostering a healthy workplace culture is a top priority. To support this, we have established core values that emphasize our employee-first approach – values that truly resonate with our team, as reflected in our impressive retention statistics.

  • Prioritizing local talent
  • Knowledge sharing
  • Fostering career growth
  • Supporting work-life balance

A happier workforce is clearly associated with our ability to deliver better customer satisfaction.

About Kardzhali

Kardzhali is a town in southeastern Bulgaria, nestled in the valley of the Arda River (ancient name: Artesk), the largest river in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains. Recognized as a model of a multiethnic community, it is home to people of various ethnic backgrounds, whose diverse religions and traditions contribute to a rich and vibrant culture. The town’s climate is strongly influenced by the Mediterranean. Surrounded by mountains, Kardzhali boasts a varied landscape of forests, meadows, scrubland, and parkland, offering exceptional natural diversity. Two artificial lakes, built along the Arda River on either side of the town, serve as popular recreational spots and fishing destinations for tourists.

The most significant cultural and historical monument in the municipality is the archaeological complex of Perperikon. Known as “The Rock City,” Perperikon is located 20 km northeast of Kardzhali and is remarkable for its scale, location, purpose, and strategic design. It features multiple cultural layers from different historical periods, including Thracian, Roman, and Byzantine. Other notable landmarks in Kardzhali include its unique town clock singing Bulgarian revolutionary songs every hour, the Regional History Museum, the Art Gallery, St. John the Precursor and St. Mary’s Assumption Monasteries, Monyak Fortress, and the Womb Cave.
