About Us
Over Two Decades of Growth Through Learning, Hard Work, and Customer Care
Established in the town of Kardzhali, Bulgaria in 2004 as the offshoring branch of a British software company, we expanded from supporting our own products to serving external customers in various markets.
Home Base: Why Kardzhali Made Sense
Kardzhali is a town in southeastern Bulgaria. Following the collapse of communism in 1990, Kardzhali transitioned to a free-market economy and engaged in numerous foreign aid projects with Western countries. One notable initiative, supported by the UK government, focused on integrating information technology into the municipality, local schools, and colleges. With Bulgaria already possessing a strong foundation in computer science, this project showcased the region’s IT talent, ultimately leading to the town being chosen as an offshore destination for a UK-based software company in 2004.
Company History
Our Core Values
Successful businesses thrive on both happy employees and satisfied customers, but achieving this balance is no easy task. We take this challenge seriously, recognizing that the demanding nature of the IT industry can bring anxiety, fatigue, and other stressors. That’s why fostering a healthy workplace culture is a top priority. To support this, we have established core values that emphasize our employee-first approach – values that truly resonate with our team, as reflected in our impressive retention statistics.
- Prioritizing local talent
- In today’s world, many companies have remote employees spread across different regions or even working from abroad. However, Artesk is a truly local company, with almost all of our staff based in our area. We prioritize local talent because we value strong face-to-face interactions, fostering direct collaboration, socialization, and idea exchange. This approach not only strengthens our team’s connection to the company but also supports the local community in pursuing careers in IT. We maintain a hybrid office model, allowing employees to work from home while also benefiting from in-person interactions when needed. Being on-site provides valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, as team members can observe and learn from senior colleagues handling their tasks in real time.
- Knowledge sharing
- We believe that building a high-performing team isn’t just about hiring experts – it’s also about nurturing new talent. That’s why we’re open to recruiting and mentoring junior-level staff. We welcome young people who demonstrate the right attitude, responsibility, a strong motivation for IT, and a genuine eagerness to learn. To support their growth, we’ve established a comprehensive training process with gradual onboarding, accessible learning resources, and continuous mentorship from experienced colleagues. Our internship and mentoring programs provide hands-on training in real business environments, while our internal educational platform offers a variety of technology-focused courses. Given the dynamic nature of the outsourcing industry, static roles are rare. Adaptability and a willingness to embrace change are essential, and our strong culture of knowledge sharing and support helps our team thrive in this ever-evolving landscape.
- Fostering career growth
- Career development is becoming increasingly important for both employees and employers. In IT outsourcing, continuous learning is essential to stay aligned with evolving technologies and meet the needs of our customers. That’s why we actively identify growth opportunities for our team members and provide them with the support and guidance needed to succeed. We offer financial support for certification exams, attendance at industry tech events, and participation in external courses and training programs. Additionally, we encourage colleagues to engage in professional communities to expand their networks and expertise. Promotion criteria and advancement opportunities are communicated clearly, ensuring employees have a clear path for growth. These initiatives empower our team, fostering a sense of ownership and encouraging them to invest in their professional development.
- Supporting work-life balance
- We strive to understand and accommodate the diverse work-life needs of our employees. Recognizing that everyone has different personalities and work preferences, we help them find and maintain a balance that works for them. We offer flexible hours and remote work options, empowering employees to manage their own time while focusing on productivity rather than clocking hours. Our managers regularly check in with their teams to review workloads, ensuring capacity is managed effectively. We also actively encourage employees to take their time off and are happy to provide additional PTO days when needed. To support overall well-being, we have an on-site gym and promote an active lifestyle, which not only improves health but also enhances productivity and reduces stress. Beyond work, we foster a sense of community by encouraging shared interests, whether it’s grabbing a beer together, hosting board game nights, or organizing team hikes in the nearby mountains.
A happier workforce is clearly associated with our ability to deliver better customer satisfaction.
